Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, severe flooding and droughts happening, cloud forests are dying and wildlife is scrambling. The Earth is warming up, the causes effects of global warming are important to understand so we can fight for the health of our planet. All those changes are emerging as humans continue to add heat-trapping greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, changing the rhythms of climate that all living things must rely on.
What will we do – what can we do – to slow this human-causes warming? How will we cope with the changes we have already set in motion? While we struggle to figure it out, the fate of the Earth as we know it – coasts, forests, farms and snow-capped mountains hangs in the balance.
We, as Marmara Group, measured and analyzed our Greenhouse Gas Emissions in order to reduce its impact on the planet and the environment, and therefore help to reduce climate change. In this way we saw which of the company’s activities are the highest pollutants and found solutions to reduce our carbon footprints as much, as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
For the past 150 years or so, humans have relied heavily on coal, oil, and other fossil fuels to power everything from light bulbs to cars to factories. Fossil fuels are embedded in nearly everything we do, and as a result, the greenhouse gases released from the burning of those fuels have reached historically high levels. In this matter, first of all wherever it is possible we started to avoid fossil fuels, and use renewable energy sources for our energy requirements. The environmental benefits of renewable energy, including lower carbon emissions and reduced air pollution, are highly effective.
Recycling turns things into other thing, which is some kind of magic. In the office and personal lives we started recycling paper, plastic, metals, glass etc. to decrease carbon dioxide. If you are struggling to find the link between global warming and recycling, it’s it: Recycling of all sorts saves and reuses materials, meaning that less resources will need to be used in the future. In the case of paper, producing paper from recycled goods utilized 65% less energy than when paper is produced from the raw resources. Every ton of paper recycled saves 17 trees, and every tree is a vessel for trapping and containing carbon dioxide. Therefore, recycling leads to a lot less carbon dioxide for our planet.
Car pollution contributes significantly to climate change, which results from a buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Burning fossil fuels in cars releases carbon dioxide, which is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the. We try our best to prefer cars with the lowest emissions as well as zero emission cars. Fuel-efficient vehicles use less gas to travel the same distance as their less efficient counterparts. When we burn less fuel, we generate fewer emissions. When emissions go down, the pace of global warming slows.
Global warming is a serious issue and is not a single issue but a number of environmental issues. The greenhouse gases will stay in the atmosphere for many years since hundreds years ago. However, the effect that global warming will cause on earth are extremely serious. There are many effects that will happen in the future if global warming continues. That includes polar ice caps melting, economic consequences, warmer waters and more hurricanes, spread of diseases and earthquake. We must not pin all our hopes on global politics and clean energy technology, so we must prepare for the worst and adapt. If implemented now, a lot of the costs and damage, that could be caused by changing climate, can be mitigated.
